Call for Papers: IAMS Theology of Mission Study Group
The Theology of Mission Study Group of the International Association for Mission Studies (IAMS) is seeking papers for a/several breakout sessions on Theology of Mission.
“Theology of mission” attends to the use of Christian doctrine in mission studies, to the systematic development of theologies that support or inform mission practice in different contexts, and to the ways that mission studies might shape expressions in other Christian theological disciplines.
The Conference will be held from July 17 to 21, 2026, at the University of South Africa in Pretoria, South Africa. The theme of the Conference is “Walking Together in Mission: Facing Global Challenges for a Sustainable World.” Papers would be welcome exploring the main theme from a theological perspective, as well as theological explorations such as:
- Missional Implications of Synodality and Prophetic Dialogue
- Migration
- Ecological Issues
- Peacemaking and Reconciliation
- Interculturality
- Contextual Theology within particular contexts dealing with the theme
Paper proposals of no more than 250 words are due by November 30, 2025. Applicants will be notified of the acceptance of their papers in January 2026.
