Getting to CIAM

  • Transport from the Airport.  Terminal C and Terminal B arrival halls are each side of the escalator going to the train station. Click here for a map of the Airport. The train to Rome Termini is straightforward. From the Termini taking the 64 bus from the bus stands in front of the Termini and then walking should not be too difficult if you do not have much luggage. A Taxi from the train Termini should be about €12.00.
  • For those taking a taxi from the airport  - ask for a quote and do not agree to more than €40.00 - ask another taxi for their price if necessary. Drivers may ask for as much as €70 and commonly €60, but a metered fare is close to €40.
  • Finding CIAM can be a challenge! Via Urbano VIII can be described as "near the new car park -  Terminal Gianicolo - San Petro. (See http://www.terminal.gianicolo.it/servizivip.asp) It is also near Bambin Gesϊ Children's Hospital.

The garden roof of CIAM is the same level as the university grounds (which now include tennis courts and grassed areas covering  the Propaganda Archives and the bus station). There are superb views over St Peters and the Vatican. Walking, or taxi, will bring you to the top level, then go down the stairs to the entrance on the top floor.

The red line on the photo below outlines the campus of the Pontifical Urban University. CIAM is at the edge of the gardens at the top right hand side of the red line. The Library is at the bottom left, and the Jean-Paul II Aula is just above it towards the left.
