Obituary Notice: William (Bill) Burrows

We are saddened to share the news of the passing of Rev. William (Bill) Burrows, MM, a long-time member of the International Association for Mission Studies (IAMS), former member of the IAMS Executive Committee, and distinguished editor at Orbis Books.

Bill Burrows passed away on 3 March following an accidental fall. For many years, he served the global mission studies community with dedication, wisdom, and generosity. Through his leadership within IAMS and his editorial work at Orbis Books, he made a significant contribution to the development and dissemination of scholarship in mission studies and world Christianity.

Many within the IAMS community will remember Bill as a valued colleague, mentor, and friend whose work helped shape conversations in missiology across continents.

The funeral service will take place at Graymoor, New York, on 21 March at 10:30 AM.

We give thanks for Bill’s life and faithful service. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues.
