Malaysia is told to be one of the most pleasant, hassle-free countries to visit in South-East Asia. Several decades of sustained economic growth and political stability have made it one of the most buoyant and wealthy countries in the region, and although political power (Malay) and economic clout (Chinese) are still traditionally divided along racial lines, Malaysia has moved towards a pluralist culture based on a vibrant and interesting fusion of Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous cultures and customs.

This is a list of the visa Requirement for Malaysia

1. Commonwealth citizens (except nationals of India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka), British Protected Persons or citizens of the Republic of Ireland, Switzerland, Netherlands, San Marino and Liechtenstein are not required to obtain a visa in order to enter Malaysia.

2. No visa is required for stay not exceeding three months for nationals of:

7. Visa cannot be issued to the following nationals:
Israel Serbia Yugoslav (Serbs)

8. Citizens of countries other than those stated above are allowed to enter Malaysia for a social or business visit not exceeding one month without visa.

Types of Visa
Two types of visa are issued:-
1. Single-Entry Visa
2. Multiple-Entry Visa

How to apply for a Visa

Visitors may apply to any of the Malaysian Immigration Attaché’ Offices, the High Commissions, Embassies or Consulate offices enclosing the following documents:
1. Passport or Travel Document valid for at least 6 months.
2  Visa application form IM.47 (download here)
3  Confirmed travel itinerary from travel agency or Travel tickets
4  Letter from employer stating salary and position held
5  Proof of sufficient funds for use in Malaysia.(Traveler’s cheques)
6  One passport-sized photograph
7  Certified copy of Landed Immigrant paper
8  Prepaid envelope with sufficient stamps, to cover the return of your documents by registered mail
9  Letter from relative , friend or company in Malaysia inviting you to come and visit Malaysia.
10 A money order (Contact your local High Commission of Malaysia to request to fees)

Health Requirements
Yellow fever vaccination, is required if arriving from, or via an infected area, and from Yellow Fever Endemic Zones. Cholera vaccination is not required for travellers entering Malaysia.

 

Customs
Personal Duty-Free Allowances for visitors staying a minimum of 72 Hours:
   200 cigarettes or 50 cigars or 225 gm tabacco.
   Wines, sprits/malt liquor not exceeding 1 litre.
   Cosmetics, perfume, clothes, etc. for personal use.
   Gifts and souvenirs to a total value not exceeding RM200, except when imported from Labuan and Langkawi where the total value shall not exceed RM500.

 

Prohibitions
   Narcotics and dangerous drugs. Trafficking in illegal drugs carries the death penalty.
   Firearms and ammunition (unless under special permit)
   Dagger and flick-knives.
   Pornographic materials.
   All goods from Israel.
