International Association for Mission Studies

12th Quadrennial International Conference

BALATONFÜRED, HUNGARY, 16-23 August 2008

The 12th Quadrennial International Conference will take place in Balatonfüred, Hungary, from 16-23 August 2008.
The theme of the conference will be

HUMAN IDENTITY AND THE GOSPEL OF RECONCILIATION

AGENDA FOR MISSION STUDIES AND PRAXIS IN THE 21th CENTURY

On this web site, you will also find ways to pay your membership fees, conference fee and the costs for board and lodging during the conference. It would be an immensely big help if many of you could pay through this system in order not to run with huge sums of money around the world! For information about the conference and a preliminary schedule click the hyperlinks. Much time will be given to informing each other about new projects and new insights in mission studies in all parts of the world, although the venue will certainly bring a strong input from colleagues of Central and Eastern Europe.

The conference language will be English. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to provide translations in other languages. The different study groups of IAMS will have time to meet. We feel privileged to have found such a beautiful place to convene, on the shores of Lake Balaton in Hungary. We feel even more blessed by the presence of a local committee, under the leadership of our Executive Committee member Prof. Dr. Anne-Marie Kool, that is taking care of all local arrangements.

Looking forward to seeing you in Hungary,

Dr. Jan van Butselaar, General Secretary

In the regular program, regional groups and study groups participants will have even more opportunities to get to know each other and to exchange views and information.
