The first two days of the conference will be used for local exposure to the historical and contemporary cultural and religious setting. Sunday, 1 August(1) Buddhism Track: Participants will have the opportunity to visit some significant Buddhist centres, places of Buddhist worship, and dialogue with Buddhist scholars. The purpose is to understand the development and current situation of Buddhism in Malaysia. (2) Hinduism Track: Participants will have the opportunity to visit some significant Hindu Temples, and dialogue with Hindu scholars. The purpose is to understand the development and current situation of Hinduism in Malaysia. (3) Orang Asli (Native People) Track: Visit a native people village and have a session of dialogue with the people. The purpose is to understand the current state (needs and struggles) of the native people in Malaysia. (4) Social Concern Track: To visit the National Office of Human Development for the migrant workers of the Roman Catholic Church, the Malaysia CARE (a social ministry organization) and its respective social ministries. The purpose is to understand the endeavour of the Malaysian Church in the social outreach ministry. (5) Historical Track: There will be a briefing session on the history of the development of the churches in Malaysia. We will also visit Melaka (Malacca), a historic city, (also known as the gateway of Christianity to Malaya, China and South East Asia) which is full of historical significance for Christianity.
